Obituary of John Jenkins

John Jenkins, 75, of Clifford, PA, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with dementia and Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Johns Jenkins.

Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Bertha Sadonis Jenkins.

Before retirement, he was employed by Bridgeport Machines. John was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and longtime season ticket holder traveling to home games with family and friends.

The family would like to thank Jamie and Compassionate Care Hospice for their loving, professional and devoted care to John.

Surviving are children: Ronald Jenkins and wife Linda of Greenfield Township, PA, Colleen Zdaniewicz and husband Ben of Falls, PA and Laura Morgan and husband Todd of Jermyn, PA; grandchildren: Nicole Zdaniewicz and husband Brian Morris, Theresa Tulaney and husband Sarkis, Courtney O'Hara and husband Chris, Ron Jenkins and wife Katy, John Zdaniewicz, Jamie Jenkins and fiance' Mark Angermeier, Taylor and Owen Morgan; great grandchildren: Natalie, Emma and Lena O'Hara, Keegan Angermeier, Ben Morris, Connor Jenkins and Brooke Tulaney: brother: Robert Jenkins and wife Dorothy; nieces and nephews and longtime friend: Bob O'Neill.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Keith.

The funeral was held Friday, July 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Pastor Don Parry of the First United Methodist Church, Carbondale, PA, officiating. Cremation followed.

Friends called Friday, July 7, 2017 from 5-7 p.m.
