We are a family owned, full service funeral home who's been in the funeral profession for three generations. Over the years, we have served families of all faiths, beliefs and nationalities, of which many have placed their trust and confidence in us generation after generation.

Edward A. (Ted) Wade (Funeral Director) 1918 – 1993
The son of a Canadian immigrant of Irish descent, he graduated from Collier School of Embalming in New York City in 1940. After serving in the Pacific Theatre on the islands of Saipan and Tinian with the Army during World War II he returned home and established his funeral business in 1946. In addition to being a funeral director, Ted was also employed as a brakeman for the D & H Railroad for many years. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the American Legion, the Columbia Hose Company, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the United Transportation Union. He was married to the late Eleanor Doudican Brady, who died in 2002. They have two sons, Frank and Edward. Ted passed away in 1993 at the age of 74.

Frank J. Wade (Funeral Director) 1947 – 2010
Born in 1947, Frank assumed the day to day operations of Wade Funeral Home in 1986 after the retirement of his father. He graduated from St. Rose High School in 1964, the University of Scranton in 1968 and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service, Syracuse, New York in 1980. From 1968 to 1986, Frank was employed by the Carbondale Area School District as a teacher in the Social Studies department, as well as a basketball and baseball coach. Frank is a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the National Education Association, and the Pennsylvania State Education Association. He was married to the former Sharon Baker and has four children: Christopher, Kathleen, Daniel and Michael, three grandchildren: Olivia, Sean and Avery, and two step-grandchildren: Hunter and Madison. Frank passed away on August 7, 2010 at the age of 63.

Christopher J.Wade (Funeral Director)
Chris, the third generation of Wades to become a funeral director, received his license in 1995. Like his dad, he is a graduate of the University of Scranton and Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in Syracuse, New York. Chris currently serves as the funeral supervisor of the business and is also employed as a Social Studies teacher at Forest City Regional High School. Chris is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the National Education Association, and the Pennsylvania State Education Association. He resides in Dickson City.
