Stephen F. Sekula, 77, a resident of the Carbondale Nursing Home, died Saturday morning, June 5, 2021. His wife was the late Caroline N. "Carrie" Burke, who died on December 15, 2017.
Born January 21, 1944 in Pittston, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen F. and Veronica Parulis Sekula.
Steve retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot where he had been employed as an electronics technician. He also operated a used car business and worked in his family's store. Steve worked many years for a printing business delivering church bulletins to every church in the area.
Steve loved Lake Wallenpaupack and built a beautiful home there, where he entertained his friends. He also enjoyed his snowmobile and motor boat. He loved country music and cars. The love of his life was his wife Carrie, he was very close to God, and was a prayer warrior. Steve was always cheerful and supportive of the girls who worked at Carbondale Nursing Home, especially Deseree, whom he was very close friends with. The staff at the nursing home loved him dearly. A life well lived.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his two sisters: Vernadine Vetack and Regina Bevilacqua.
As per his request, Steve was cremated. Interment, St. Casimir Cemetery, Pittston, PA.
Arrangements were under the care of the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Carbondale, PA.
