Obituary of Margaret Farrell

Margaret "Peggy" Farrell, of Carbondale, PA, died peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Carbondale Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Carbondale in 1921, she was the daughter of the late Clement and Isabel Carden Farrell. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. Peggy maintained perfect attendance throughout elementary and high school, and applied that same steadiness and work ethic during her lengthy employment at Daystrom Corporation, Eynon.

The main setting of Peggy's life was the family homestead on the West Side, Carbondale, where she was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and a beloved and supportive neighbor. With her close friend, the late Sarah Gillott, she was a devotee of the annual St. Ann's Novena at the Basilica in Scranton. Significantly, she died in the midst of the current Novena, on its fifth day.

Christopher Farrell and Michael Farrell, Waymart, PA; Thomas Farrell, Jr., Warrington, PA; Robert, Michael and Leo Farrell, New Jersey; James Farrell, Jr., New Mexico; nieces: Atty.
