Obituary of Ann McArdle

Ann T. McArdle, 71, a lifelong resident of Hughestown, PA, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre, PA, following an illness.

Born April 24, 1946 in Hughestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Mary Z. Hoban McArdle.

She was a faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Hughestown, and now Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston, PA.

Prior to retirement, she was employed as a trainer for Techneglass in Jenkins Township, PA, for 37 years and also worked as a teller at the Avoca Bank.

She enjoyed traveling and had a love of rescuing cats and giving them a good home.

She is survived by her close friends: Carolyn Jenkes of Duryea, PA, Raymond Pivarnik of Hanover Township, PA, Linda Kulik of Hop Bottom, PA and Tracy Curry of Hanover Township, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Edward , James "Jerry", William and Robert McArdle and one sister: Mary Frederick.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 North Main Street, Pittston, celebrated by Rev. Jeffrey Walsh, V.E. Interment, St. Mary's Assumption Cemetery, Hughestown.

Friends called Monday, April 23, 2018 from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were sent in Ann's name to True Friends Animal Welfare Center, 16332 State Route 706, Montrose, PA 18801.
