Obituary of John "Jack" Kelley

John "Jack" Kelley, 82, of Greenfield Township, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. He is survived by his wife the former, Barbara Ranocchia.

Born April 28, 1936 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Arlene Zrowka Solomon and John Kelley. His step-father was the late Peter Solomon.

Jack was retired from Sears, Roebuck and Company where he had been employed as a repairman in their service department. He was a member of St. Pius X Church in Royal, PA, where he had served as an acolyte and caretaker of the church for many years. Jack was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Forest City Council 3506.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time with his children hunting and fishing. Jack was a handyman who could fix just about anything that needed repair. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, who along with his wife raised their daughter's three children after her passing.

He is survived by four sons: John, Jr., and wife, Shelley of Hollywood, MD, Jeff and wife, Christine of Clifford, PA, James and wife, Sandra of Clifford, PA and Jason and wife, Tammy of Greenfield Township, PA; two brothers: Joseph Solomon of Archbald, PA and Peter Soloman, Jr. of Carbondale, PA; one sister: Joyce Cardamone of Nevada; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Jill Marie Papp.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church, 3615 State Route 106, Royal, PA, celebrated by Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor and Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor of St. Mary's Church, Waymart, PA. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA.

There were no calling hours.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
