Eugene J. "Gene" Swetter, 83, of Clifford Township, PA, died Wednesday morning, June 2, 2021 surrounded by his family at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA, after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Maureen Semanek.

Born March 20, 1938 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Roba Swetter.

Gene proudly served his country in the Army and later worked with his father in the excavating business. He enjoyed polka's, listening to country music and the first decade of rock and roll - 1950's music. In his later years, Gene was happy to sit on his deck with his cats and enjoy all of nature's beauty his backyard had to offer. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

He is survived by three children: Michelle Clift and husband, Russell of Richmondale, PA, Colleen Heller and husband, Frederick, Jr. of Lenoxville, PA, and John Swetter and wife, Tammy of Clifford, PA; seven grandchildren: Kyle Heller, Matthew Heller, Nicholas Clift, Zackery Heller, Alexis Clift, Sofie Swetter and Joseph Swetter; a nephew and two aunts.
