Obituary of Rose M. Andrews

Rose M. Andrews, 68, of Scott Township, PA, died Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Geisinger-CMC, Scranton, PA. She is survived by her husband and the love of her life, John K. "Jay" Andrews. They were married on July 7, 1993.

Born September 19, 1953 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence Kielar Gerchman.

Rose was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson, PA. She had been employed as a medical transcriptionist having worked for many years at Clarks Summit State Hospital, the Gino Merli Veterans Center and retiring from Allied Services. Rose loved animals, especially horses. She found true peace being on her farm, caring for and riding her horses. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is also survived by two brothers: Edward Gerchman and wife, Christine of Milford, PA, and John Gerchman and wife, Leann of Browndale, PA; nieces and nephew: Stephanie Depew and husband, Zackery of Palmyra, NJ, Taylor Walsh and husband, Jesse of Upper Chichester, PA, Matthew Gerchman and companion, Emma Spittel of Ararat, PA; great-niece and great-nephews: Zoey Depew, Eli Depew and Liam Walsh.

She was also preceded in death by her 11-year-old brother: Ronald Gerchman, who died in 1961.

The funeral was held Saturday, April 23, 2022 from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 4 Morris Place, Carbondale, PA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, PA, celebrated by Rev. Seth Wasnak, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Matthew Gerchman, Zack Depew, Jesse Walsh, Justin Kravitz, Jack Clark and Bill Bradley.

Viewing hours were held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 5-8 p.m.
